November 21, 2024 at 7:50 pmDespicable Me series has a charm that appeals to both kids and adults with its humor, heartwarming moments, and of course, the Minions. I have been a fan of these Despicable Me Movies since 2010 and I have loved all of the movie in a variety of different qualities. I had a lot of fun because of wide variety of different characters with their own distinct personalities and charisma in this 4th film.
The addition of Joey King as Poppy Prescott was a great move …her character definitely added a fresh dynamic to the Gru family’s story, especially with them having to navigate the challenges of living in a new neighborhood. Its always fun to see Gru and his family adapt to new situations, and seeing them interact with new characters like Poppy brings out some interesting and heartwarming moments.
The father-son dynamic between Gru and Gru Jr. was a standout, too. The emotional journey, where Gru Jr. starts off resentful of his dad but eventually bonds with him, added a lot of depth to Gru’s character. It was a nice touch seeing him struggle and grow as a father, and the payoff with their relationship developing over the course of the film was really satisfying.
And, of course, the Minions! Their chaotic antics never get old. Their ability to create mayhem while still being loveable and endearing makes them such a key part of the franchise’s charm. It’s clear they continue to be a fan favorite with their goofy but lovable ways.
According to me, the film did a great job of blending humor, heart, and fun character development! A must watch for fun.
