November 7, 2024 at 8:10 pmI was honestly mesmerized by this movie. It’s a dark, gripping psychological thriller that goes beyond the usual boundaries of superhero films. The film openly tackles tough topics like mental illness, loneliness, and how love and madness can be hard to separate.
Joaquin Phoenix is without a doubt the heart of this film. His portrayal of Arthur Fleck/Joker is both heartbreaking and terrifying. You can truly sense the pain and confusion in his performance and it makes his descent into madness even more chilling. Lady Gaga, as Harley Quinn, brings a new energy to the film. Her version of Harley is bold & unpredictable which creates a powerful dynamic between her and Joker.
For me, what i think is that this film was a bold, intense film that kept me thinking long after I watched it. Definitely not for everyone, but for those who appreciate dark, thought-provoking cinema, it’s a must-watch.
